The Idea of Women being the Voice of Reason

In the horror film genre, women have always been the ones to survive or the ones to help others survive the situation they've been placed in. My idea on it is that their cunning is what keeps them alive. They are able to think rationally in those situations. Men, on the other hand, have a strong pride within them. They think that they can handle things on their own. They may try to think a way out of the situation but only to give them an upper hand in that situation. In the movie "The Escape Room", which is a thriller and not so much a horror film, there was a character named Zoie Davis. Zoie was the smart girl in the group, who figured out that there was more to the maze than what they saw. The men in the group on the other hand were prideful and ended up dead by the end of the movie. Zoie and one other were able to escape thanks to her cunning mind. It goes to support my idea of why women are the last to survive in horror films, and I think its truly valid to say that about a lot of men and women in the world.
